TrainzMap - Features

Layout inspecting

  • The following route elements can be displayed:
    • tracks, distinguishing among normal rails, bridges, tunnels and invisible tracks,
    • base board grid reference,
    • signals and points (junctions) with their labels and default directions,
    • markers (starting points) with their labels,
    • AI markers,
    • script triggers with their labels and radii,
    • speed board limits with the speed limit,
    • industries and passenger stations,
    • cameras, either static and tracking, with the approximate range,
    • names of stations, signs and other nameable objects;
  • map display can be panned around and zoomed from a max of 12.5cm per pixel to a min of 1024m per pixel;
  • a rectangular area can be selected and fit to the window for closer inspection, printing or exporting to an image;
  • browse lists of named signals, points, markers, triggers and nameable objects (including industries and passenger stations);
  • measure distances along tracks;
  • add notes and other persistent custom texts to the route display.

Scenario data access

  • Load a scenario data file (.TSO file) over the open route to see the actual objects the scenario will work on.
  • Create new scenario data file for new routes.

Editing

  • Change object properties:
    • labels of signals, junctions, triggers, track marks and nameable objects with duplicate label control
    • junction default direction
    • trigger radius
  • Change track properties:
    • track straight flag
    • track fixed vertex height flag
  • Replace an object with another of the same kind, also globally.

Map printing

  • Print a whole route or a selected area;
  • Print at a given scale, evenly splitting on several pages if necessary; the printout is as accurately in scale as possible...
  • ...OR fit the printout (either the whole route or the selection) on a single page;
  • Amount of detail selectable independently from display settings (base boards, invisible tracks, speed boards, nameable objects and cameras off/on; signals, points, markers and triggers off/on/on+names).

Image exporting

  • Export the whole route, a selected area, or the current view to a .BMP or a .TGA image file;
  • Selectable image scale.
